Four things to check first

- Demand charges. Commercial bills include a charge based on peak kW, not just energy. Solar reduces energy charges reliably; it reduces demand charges only if your peak lines up with production. Storage or load scheduling is what moves the demand line.
- Service and interconnection. Three-phase equipment, switchgear capacity and the utility's commercial interconnection queue all have longer lead times than residential.

Twelve months of bills with the demand line visible, the roof age and type, and any structural drawings you have. That's enough for a realistic first pass.
