Tesla Certified Installer · Tampa Bay & Central Florida

Tesla Powerwall & home battery backup.

Silent backup power that recharges from your roof. We are a Tesla Certified Installer, so Powerwall is installed and commissioned by our own crew — and we install other battery platforms and generators too, so the recommendation you get starts with which loads have to stay on, not with a brand.

How the system is designed.

Four decisions, made before anyone talks about equipment brands.

Backup loads first

Before any equipment is chosen, we decide what has to stay on. That list determines battery size, gateway type and whether you need a backup subpanel — not the other way around.

The gateway

The device that safely islands your home from the grid during an outage. This is the code-critical piece, and it is what makes backup automatic instead of something you go outside to operate.

Solar coupling

AC-coupled or DC-coupled, decided by whether solar is new or existing. This choice affects efficiency and whether the array can recharge the battery during a grid-down event.

Air conditioning

The Florida question. Whether an AC zone is on backup, and whether it needs a soft start to survive on battery, is decided at design — not discovered during the first outage.

Why us for storage.

  • Tesla Certified Installer — Powerwall installed and commissioned in-house
  • Licensed and insured Florida electrical contractor, EC13012465
  • Backup load list built before equipment is selected
  • We install generators too — the comparison is honest
  • Battery-ready design on new solar, even if the battery comes later
  • Permitting and utility interconnection handled end to end
  • Solar, storage and electrical by one in-house team

A few questions about the home, your outages, and whether solar is already on the roof — then we schedule the assessment.

Question 1 of 5

Is this a home or a business?

So we send the right crew.

Questions we get.

How does home battery backup work?

A battery sits between your solar, your panel and the grid. When utility power fails, a backup gateway disconnects your home from the grid and the battery carries your backup loads. If you have solar, the array keeps recharging the battery through the day, which is what turns a several-hour backup into a multi-day one.

Can a battery run my whole house?

Sometimes, but often it should not. Whole-home backup means the battery has to carry every load including air conditioning, and in Florida the AC is what drains it. The more useful approach for most homes is a backup subpanel with the loads that genuinely matter — refrigeration, well pump, networking, medical equipment, some outlets and often one AC zone.

How long will a battery keep the house running?

It depends entirely on which loads you back up and whether solar is recharging it. Backing up essentials with a solar array behind them can carry a home through a multi-day outage. Backing up everything including full air conditioning, with no solar, can be a matter of hours. Anyone quoting you a flat number of days without asking about your loads is guessing.

Do I need solar to have a battery?

No. A battery can charge from the grid and provide outage protection on its own. But without solar it can only ever hold what it charged before the outage — once it is empty during a multi-day event, it stays empty. Solar is what makes it renewable rather than a large one-shot power bank.

Can you install a Tesla Powerwall?

Yes. We are a Tesla Certified Installer, so Powerwall is installed, commissioned and registered by our own crew rather than subcontracted out. We also install other battery platforms, so if your loads or your existing inverter point somewhere else, we will say so instead of forcing the brand.

What does Tesla Certified Installer actually mean?

It means Tesla has trained and approved our team to install and commission their storage equipment, and that the system is registered and supported through Tesla's channels. Practically, it means the install, the gateway configuration and the app setup are done by people who do it regularly, and warranty support has a clear path.

Battery or generator for Florida hurricanes?

Honestly, a generator is stronger for the long multi-day outage, because it runs as long as you can feed it fuel. A battery is better for the short, frequent outages, and it is silent, needs no fuel run, and requires almost no maintenance. Solar plus a battery narrows the gap considerably. We install both, so we are not selling you the one we happen to carry.

Can I add a battery to an existing solar system?

Usually yes, though the path depends on your existing inverter. Some systems accept AC-coupled storage cleanly; others need inverter changes that affect the economics. This is exactly why we design new systems battery-ready even when the battery is years away.

Do batteries need permits in Florida?

Yes. Energy storage requires electrical permitting and inspection, with placement rules covering location, clearances and fire separation. If you are adding it to solar, the utility interconnection paperwork also gets updated. We handle all of it.
