Monitoring

Per-panel production visible in an app, so a shaded or underperforming module is something you can see rather than something you find out about years later.

    Site and usage review

    We pull twelve months of usage off your bill and look at roof planes, shading, age and condition, and your main panel. If the roof needs work first, we say so.

    Design and written scope

    Layout, equipment, production modeling, and roof attachment detail — in writing, with the interconnection path spelled out before you commit.

  3. 03

    Permitting

    We submit to Tampa, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco or Polk, including the structural and electrical engineering the county requires.

  4. 04

    Installation

    Racking, flashing, modules, conduit and inverter. Typically one to three days on site, done by our own crews.

  5. 05

    Inspection

    County electrical and building inspection. We schedule it and meet the inspector.

  6. 06

    Interconnection and activation

    Utility application, meter exchange, permission to operate — then we switch the system on and walk you through monitoring.

How long does solar panel installation take in Tampa?

The install itself is usually one to three days on a typical single-family home. The full timeline runs longer than that because of design, permitting with your city or county, and the utility's interconnection review and meter swap. Most Tampa Bay projects run a couple of months start to finish, and permitting and utility scheduling — not the crew — are what set the pace.

Do I need a permit to install solar in Hillsborough County?

Yes. Solar requires a building and electrical permit, and the work has to pass inspection before the utility will approve interconnection. We pull the permit, schedule the inspection, and handle the utility paperwork through to permission to operate, so you are not chasing agencies.

How does net metering work with TECO and Duke Energy?

Florida investor-owned utilities credit exported solar at the retail rate on a one-to-one basis. Power your home uses directly offsets what you would have bought; anything extra your system sends to the grid comes back as a credit on the bill. The application is filed by us as part of the project, and credits start once the utility grants permission to operate.

Should the roof be replaced before installing solar?

If the roof has fewer than about ten years of life left, yes — replace first. Detaching and reinstalling an array later is real cost and real risk. We do roofing and solar in-house, so we can inspect the roof honestly, sequence both trades as one project, and avoid two contractors pointing at each other.

What size solar system does a Tampa home need?

It comes from your actual usage, not a rule of thumb. We pull twelve months of kilowatt-hours off your bill, look at how much unshaded south, east, and west roof plane you have, and size to the offset you want. Two homes on the same street with the same roof can need very different systems.

Do solar panels hold up in Florida hurricanes?

Modern racking is engineered and permitted to the Florida Building Code wind loads for your specific county and roof height. That engineering is part of the permit package, which is why the county reviews it. Attachment quality and flashing detail matter more than the panel itself — which is why we keep installs in-house rather than subbing them out.

Can I add a battery later, or does it have to be now?

Either works, but it is cheaper and cleaner if the system is designed battery-ready up front. That means planning the inverter, the backup loads, and the panel space at design time even if the battery gets installed a year later.
