LOCAL QUESTIONS
OUC or the utility on the account.
Property-specific answers.
Official starting source: OUC rooftop solar guidance. Confirm current rules for the actual account.
Explore the full market guideWhy does the date on an OUC model matter?
OUC publishes changes for rooftop-solar billing beginning November 1, 2026. A proposal should state which rules and dates it uses.
Should exported solar be valued the same as solar used at home?
Not automatically. The applicable utility program determines how exports are credited. A useful comparison shows self-consumption, exports and grid purchases separately.
What should I send?
Start with a recent electric bill or twelve months of usage. If you already have a solar proposal, include the equipment, system size, production estimate, installed price and payment terms.
Is the review free?
Yes. There is no charge or obligation. Origin may offer a project proposal after confirming fit and coverage, but you decide whether to continue.
