THE SHORT ANSWER
Ask WREC what it can provide to the authorized member, then reconcile that record with local permits and the installed system. Do not invent missing approvals.
Gather stable identifiers
Collect member name, service address, meter, former installer, permit number, application references and accessible equipment models. Keep passwords and unrelated financing data private.
Ask a narrow cooperative question
Request the recorded interconnection or metering status and any open items through WREC’s current channel. Save the date, response and case identifier.
Check the jurisdiction separately
Confirm permit issuance, inspections and corrections with the applicable local authority. Cooperative and permit closeout are independent evidence.
Define new service scope
A replacement provider may offer diagnostics, monitoring recovery, document reconstruction or repairs after inspection. That is not an automatic transfer of the former installer’s contract or warranties.
