THE SHORT ANSWER
SolarEdge directs owners to its account, mySolarEdge app and equipment-support resources. A map discrepancy should be documented as an account or layout issue until testing identifies an equipment fault. [1]
Save both layouts
Obtain the as-built roof plan and capture the current monitoring map with the site name and date. Mark where they differ without editing either source. Do not climb onto the roof to identify modules.
Count identities, not pictures
Record the expected module and optimizer quantities from the closeout schedule and the device count shown in monitoring. A background image with the right number of rectangles does not prove the serial mapping is correct.
Compare production patterns
Review several complete days and note whether the apparent gap is always missing, intermittently reporting or consistently lower. Shade, orientation, communications and hardware can create different patterns. Avoid diagnosing a failed optimizer from a single cloudy screenshot.
Add recent events
Document inverter replacement, roof work, router changes, storms and account transfers. A correct physical repair can still leave the online layout outdated; an accurate map can also display a genuine device alert. The event timeline helps distinguish those paths.
Define the requested service
Ask the provider whether the initial scope includes remote monitoring review, serial-map reconciliation or electrical testing. Confirm diagnostic charges and authorization before site work. Keep the corrected map or service findings with the property record.
