THE SHORT ANSWER
SolarEdge’s system-owner support separates “My SolarEdge Account,” the mySolarEdge app and equipment support. Homeowner credentials do not automatically provide every installer or administrative function. [1]
Identify the account you can use
Sign in through the official SolarEdge owner path and record the email, site name and service address shown. Do not share the password with a contractor. If only the original installer can see the site, capture that fact before the relationship ends.
List the task you cannot complete
Be precise: viewing production, changing an owner email, editing the layout, commissioning replacement equipment and opening a support case are different functions. Ask SolarEdge or a qualified provider which role is needed for the exact task.
Preserve site identity
Save the site ID, inverter serial and model, gateway or communications details, owner email and original installer name. These identifiers help support locate the correct record without creating a duplicate site.
Plan the provider handoff
If the installer closed, ask prospective service companies whether they work on the installed SolarEdge equipment and what access or authorization they require. Manufacturer support does not imply that every local provider accepts every system.
Verify the result
After an access change, confirm the owner sees the correct site, historical production, device count and alerts. Keep the confirmation with utility and ownership documents. Do not treat login success as proof that every device is healthy.
Before your next conversation
- Record the owner email and site ID.
- Name the exact restricted task.
- Save inverter model and serial.
- Verify history after access changes.
