Recover SECO-home solar monitoring after the installer closes

Separate portal ownership, internet communication and actual production when an orphaned system disappears from an app.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Loss of installer support or portal access does not prove the array stopped producing. Identify the equipment platform, account owner and local communication path before changing hardware.

Identify the platform

Record inverter, gateway, communication device and serial numbers from safe accessible locations. Find prior welcome emails, app screenshots and the email address originally invited to the site.

Check account ownership

Use the manufacturer’s current owner-transfer or support process. Provide proof only through approved channels. A new service company should not request the former installer’s master password.

Test communications separately

Confirm home internet changes, router credentials, gateway indicators and last-reporting time using manufacturer guidance. Compare SECO meter or bill data cautiously; it measures a different boundary from inverter production.

Escalate with evidence

Send the manufacturer or service provider the equipment inventory, ownership evidence, timeline, screenshots and error messages. Authorize field work only after the scope distinguishes account recovery, communications repair and power-production diagnosis.

Before your next conversation

  • Record platform and serials.
  • Follow the official transfer process.
  • Check communications separately.
  • Define the diagnostic scope.
