Match SECO member, meter and service-address records

Resolve identity mismatches before they delay solar interconnection, permits or a later ownership handoff.

THE SHORT ANSWER

A SECO solar file should consistently identify the authorized member, the physical service location and the meter connected to the proposed system.

Use primary account evidence

Compare a current SECO bill with the proposal, property documents and permit application. Pay attention to unit numbers, rural route formats, parcel descriptions and recent changes of ownership.

Separate mailing and service addresses

The address receiving correspondence may not describe the installation point. Label both where relevant, and do not allow a salesperson’s CRM abbreviation to become the controlling project identity.

Confirm authorization

Ask SECO which account party can sign or receive project information. Contractors may prepare submissions, but homeowner authorization and cooperative review remain separate responsibilities.

Maintain the correction history

If a mismatch is fixed, retain the dated request, cooperative response and revised project pages. Update every affected record instead of creating a second orphaned application.

Before your next conversation

  • Use a current SECO bill.
  • Label mailing and service addresses.
  • Confirm the authorized member.
  • Save correction evidence.
