SECO solar closeout: the owner packet that outlasts the installer

Collect cooperative, permit, equipment, monitoring and warranty records while the project team is still available.

THE SHORT ANSWER

A durable closeout file lets the homeowner prove what was approved and installed, monitor operation and request future service without depending on one contact.

Index the approvals

Save permit issuance and closeout, inspection results, SECO application references and final cooperative authorization. Note the service address and final design version on a one-page index.

Capture the as-built system

Keep the one-line, array layout, module and inverter inventory, accessible serials, storage configuration, shutdown instructions and roof attachment information. Record approved substitutions.

Secure digital access

Have the owner sign into monitoring, verify recovery information and export a baseline report. Store manufacturer and service contacts separately from the app. Do not share installer master credentials.

Define support lanes

Separate SECO billing and meter questions from product warranty, workmanship, roof and independent maintenance responsibilities. Keep actual written terms instead of assuming all labor or shipping is covered.

Before your next conversation

  • Index SECO and permit approvals.
  • Save the as-built inventory.
  • Verify owner monitoring access.
  • Separate support responsibilities.
