THE SHORT ANSWER
A battery proposal should explain how storage interacts with the grid, solar array and backed-up circuits. Confirm the applicable SECO and permit process for that configuration.
Describe normal operation
State whether the battery charges from solar, the grid or both; when it discharges; whether export is enabled; and what reserve the owner expects. Keep settings assumptions with the proposal.
Describe outage operation
List backed-up circuits, starting loads, expected simultaneous use and what happens when stored energy is depleted. Solar recharge during an outage depends on compatible design and conditions, not the presence of panels alone.
Update project documents
Show storage, inverter, gateway, transfer equipment, protection and backup panel on the one-line. Match equipment models and operating intent across utility, permit and installation records.
Confirm before installation
Ask SECO and the local authority what reviews apply to the proposed change. Preserve approvals, commissioning results, owner training and supported shutdown instructions.
