Review the approved project
Keep the OEU letter, permit inspection, final one-line and equipment schedule available. Confirm the installed system still matches these documents.
Check safe access
Ensure required utility-access areas are unobstructed according to approved plans. Do not open energized cabinets, remove seals or alter labels to prepare for a visit.
Resolve visible discrepancies
Document missing labels, damaged covers, incomplete conduit or model substitutions and assign correction to the qualified party. Avoid cosmetic cover-ups that obscure the actual issue.
Record the outcome
Save visit date, attendees, findings, requested corrections and next OEU step. A completed visit is not automatically the Permission to Operate letter.
