Ask what number controls
Record whether the OEU result is expressed in DC capacity, AC output or another defined rating. Do not mix kW equipment capacity with annual kWh production.
Compare the proposed equipment
List module count and watts, inverter output and storage ratings. If the proposal exceeds or interprets the utility result differently, pause for written clarification before signatures or procurement.
Keep production modeling separate
PVWatts can estimate generation from transparent array inputs, but it does not establish OEU interconnection capacity or guarantee energy output. [2] Save both calculations under their proper labels.
Control later changes
Recheck the utility calculation when panels, inverters, batteries or existing generation change. Archive the accepted design version and the evidence supporting any revision.
