Electric resistance heat, heat-pump backup strips, water heating, cooking and a clothes dryer can overlap before work or school. Record which equipment operates automatically and which tasks can move outside the peak window without compromising safety or comfort.
Do not assume rooftop solar covers dawn
Winter mornings begin with limited solar production, and east-facing modules still depend on weather and roof conditions. A proposal should not treat annual kWh offset as proof that early-morning grid demand disappears.
Use thermostat changes carefully
Avoid unreviewed changes that could harm occupants, pets or equipment. Ask an HVAC professional about heat-pump settings and auxiliary heat if the recorded peak appears tied to cold weather. Solar sales guidance should not substitute for equipment-specific advice.
Keep a seasonal comparison
