SOLAR OWNERSHIP · 2 MIN READ

Build a solar design packet before an insurance or storm claim

Preserve the engineering, installation and pre-loss evidence needed to explain what existed before damage occurred.

THE SHORT ANSWER

A durable owner packet cannot guarantee coverage, but it can document the approved system, installed equipment and condition before a severe-weather event.

Keep approved design evidence

Save permits, inspections, utility authorization, sealed calculations where applicable, racking details, array layout and as-built one-line.

Keep equipment evidence

Record module, inverter, battery and mounting models and accessible serials. Retain invoices, contracts and actual warranty documents without rewriting their terms.

Create a safe baseline

Export monitoring data and keep dated ground-level photos of accessible equipment and roof elevations. Do not climb solely to build a claim file.

After an event, preserve sequence

Record date, alerts, outage, visible changes and professional findings before repairs. Contact the insurer and responsible providers through their processes; avoid promising claim acceptance or payment. Keep emergency stabilization separate from permanent repair authorization.

Before your next conversation

  • Save approvals and calculations.
  • Inventory installed equipment.
  • Create a safe pre-loss baseline.
  • Document events before repairs.

Need help with the system you already have?

Request a documented post-storm solar assessment.

Request solar service

Equipment support, diagnostic fees, availability and accepted work are confirmed before service. A request is not a confirmed appointment.
